5great shoe! w/ minor probs
By Christopher N. Jones
I've had these shoes for roughly 8 months. I've put a lot of miles on them and have loved them from the start. Upon first wearing them, my feet were a little sore the following day, nothing serious, just enough to notice...This was expected as this was the first time I've ran with a shoe that offers the "barefoot" running experience. The shoe is extremely versatile in the fact that it can be used for a number of different activities. I've used them for the following: gym time, road running, trail running, and stand up paddle boarding. This was one of the only shoes I've owned that is actually water proof. I got caught out in a few rain storms and it was so nice to not have to run with soggy socks! Don't get me wrong, there was a bit of dampness in certain areas of the socks, but the shoes did an excellent job at keeping a lot of the water out! It's extremely lightweight too!

My only complaint is that the top, back (where the pull tab is) rubs the back of my ankle and rubs the skin off a bit if my socks aren't high enough. I typically wear those hidden socks so, I just have to remember to wear ankle socks and there's no issue.

Update: I have been running on them for a while now and the tongue has separated from the toe-box of the shoe. I contacted New Balance to see about replacing the shoe, and they were more than helpful. I just had to send them the old ones and they replaced the shoes with a shoe of my choice at no cost and no additional questions asked.

Other than that, the shoe is great and I highly recommend it to anyone!

4Close to the MT10's but different
By Ryan
As most people have probably figured out by now, the New Balance MO10 are the outdoor (MO = Men's Outdoor) version of the fabulous NB MT10 Trail Running shoes that came out a couple of years ago (which is in fact my favorite shoe). If you own the MT10, you know that they are light-weight and meshy, leaving the wearer with the airy feeling of running/ walking close to the ground. That design came with the caveat of letting in debris and water while in use out of doors, and the MO10 seeks to correct that. The largest difference from the MT10, from what I can gather, is that the added material designed to keep the elements out make the MO's feel more 'shoey' and constructed. The water resistant material seems to hold the foot in a slightly different way, which is not bad, simply different. The band which runs across the forefoot, as others have mentioned, is less constrictive, which makes the shoe feel like less a part of your foot, as did the MT10-which seems to be a matter of preference. Also, the Vibram sole on the MO10's seems a touch harder to me somehow, and a hair larger in length than the MO10's, but I have no verifiable proof that says they are different.

The added materials, coupled with the different color way, make this a minimal and very similar shoe to the MT10 which you can run in a rainstorm with. If outdoor running is your bag, go for these, and find them at a sale. I plan to use mine indoors, too.

5Very comfortable
By Michael Greenfield
This shoe is a good alternative for people who don't want to wear Vibrams. You can wear socks, orthotics, etc. They are not the most stylish shoes in the world, I wouldnt wear them out for dinner etc but as a sports shoe they are great.
